Authentic leadership starts by being a practitioner of the work you do.  You can’t effectively tell people what to do while you sit in the stands.  Get in the huddle. Do the drills. Let them see you struggle.  Let them see you win.  Catch a few balls.  Slide into home. When you have as much sweat and tears on your face as they do on theirs, you’ll understand authentic leadership.
